The fields on this dialog box vary depending on:
- whether a folder name only or a file (and folder) name is required, and
- A folder name only is required when specifying the exceptions folder
- A file name is required when a report or document file naming rule is specified. In such cases a dynamic folder name may also be defined, or a static folder name can be used.
- whether the name is dynamic or static
Use this dialog to define the folder and/or file path names. The name strings are constructed from macros and literal constants.
- The Validation field provides immediate feedback and error messages related to the syntax of the strings
- The Test with Sample Data sub panel provides a simulated string value, using real or made up data to evaluate the macros
- The Result field shows an example of the final path name as it would appear given the simulated data. If this is not what you had in mind, then change the naming rules.
