How to run and use session data |
A Session is an execution cycle and its associated set of output documents and reports.
In the production environment, the session is configured by loading a previously saved Project file (Open Project item in File menu)
Alternatively, the session can be configured from scratch with the UI, edited after Project file is loaded, or loaded from previous session's XML Results file.
The session is initiated by pressing Start or Monitor buttons in UI mode or activated from Command Line. The monitor button is disabled if no folder is listed in Input panel's Input Source.
The session starts with identifying new input file. Input files are processed and reports are generated. This cycle is called a pass. If session started in monitoring mode (Monitor button or /um option on Command Line) cycle is repeated, producing another pass data.
While running session can be stopped with toolbar Stop button. While monitoring session can be paused by Pause button. Resume by clicking Monitor button again.
While running session summary is displayed on Status Panel.
Use the Sessions menu to review results of the last session, including XML Results (Session Log), list of exceptions, list of generated documents and report files.
To access results of previous session click on Sessions Manager in Sessions menu.
The session stores its results in known locations defined in the Output and Report panels. User workflow should monitor and/or access these locations to use session's results.
/r and /e options on Command Line instruct Barcode Director to save XML Results (Session Log) and exceptions list in specific locations for further processing
